As a mother of a child with complex special needs who used to attend 40 Degreez, I could see all the good work that was done to support young people. My child can now speak in front of others and has learnt to socialise. He has gone onto attend college. I continued to volunteer at 40 Degreez to help support the work for other young people that helps improve their lives as my child is living proof of this. I am now employed part time as their fundraiser. 40 Degreez has also invested in me, I am now a qualified Level 3 Youth Worker, working on the projects and leading the Outreach and Detached projects.

Having started when my children were young and working 10 hours a week, this role over the past 25 years has evolved. I now work 40 hours a week looking after all aspects of the charity and building hire.

Hello, my name is Sarah. I am the assistant youth worker for 40 Degreez. I have been working for 40 Degreez for around 3 years. I joined the 40 Degreez team because my personal journey has led to a great interest in personal development and I want to use my knowledge and experience to help support young people. 40 Degreez has also invested in me, I am now a qualified Level 3 Youth Worker, working on the projects.

I got into youth work as I enjoy spending time working with and pushing young people out of their comfort zone and watching them develop.
