As we start a new school term, our Outreach & Detached work continues in the Farnham community. We go out & meet the young people, talk to them to find out their needs, supporting them where we can & signposting if need be. This project is supported this year by Farnham Town Council, who we thank for the opportunity to continue & grow this well needed project.

Tea at Music in the Meadow
Back in May, Farnham Town Council invited 40 Degreez to man the tea tent at this years first Music in the Meadow event. The event was a huge success, with people enjoying the music. We were also able to raise people’s awareness of us & tell them of all that goes on in 40 Degreez & outside. The total that we raised is now in, a great number of £272. This will go towards the youth activities that will take place during the sessions from September. Thank you to Farnham Town Council for the opportunity.
Summer activities
Our Summer activities have been kindly sponsored by Farnham Institute Charity & Farnham Town Council. The youth team have been busy organising the various activities for the young people to attend. They range from Alice Holt to activities at the centre & will get all our young people involved over the Summer. The holidays will then start to draw to a close with a trip to Longleat. By the end of day there will be tired happy faces both young people & staff no doubt! Photos & stories of all the activities will follow.
Challenge for 40 Degreez
On May 3rd, my friend Aaron Surridge and I accomplished something truly exhilarating – we conquered Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, all in support of 40 Degreez, a charity that does wonderful work supporting young adults in Farnham.
After our first attempt in January was thwarted by weather, we were determined to try again. Setting off on Friday afternoon after a late-night drive from London, we embarked on the mountain path to the summit, blessed with much kinder weather this time around. Despite it being May 3rd, we encountered significant snow at the top, adding to the challenge and the beauty of our ascent.
Camping overnight atop Ben Nevis, we were treated to a breath taking sunset and a sunrise that was equally spectacular. Our gear stood up admirably to the cold and a 3am downpour, making our overnight stay reasonably comfortable.
Descending via the Carn Mor Dearg Arete, we were rewarded with solitude and stunning views of the mountain’s north face and the southern ranges. Our journey also included a thrilling descent to the valley below, where we paused briefly at the CIC hut – an adventure worth every moment.
Reflecting on these incredible 24 hours, Aaron and I are immensely grateful for the support and donations we’ve received for this wonderful cause. Thank you all for your generosity and encouragement! Quote by Daniel Pereira
